Where should we have the 2009 meetup?

We need some recommendations on where to have the 2009 meetup.

Some tips: Larger cities tend to work out better (more to see/do), an active photoblogging community is preferred, and of course it's always nice to have someone volunteer to organize the event!

Budapest sounds good. Never been there and it is an area I still want to visit.
Hopefully there are some enthusiastic volunteers among the BPPB crowd.

I was there in 2006, but i didn't really see the city. I travelled all around the country, though. Bucharest is also interesting, don't you think? But i think maybe there aren't so many photobloggers in there.

Hey, that's (kinda) where I'm at now -- spent a week in beautiful Szeged (cool uni town on the Tisza river) then on to Eger (great wine region) to see my wife's family, then day trips to Budapest.

Budapest is a fun city, lot's to see/do and last I checked there was a big photoblogger community there as well. You should talk to Eszpee about the possibility of hosting the 2009 meetup.

Either way, it'd have my vote (and should be an easier sell to my wife!)

Hello everyone,  This is a really nice idea.  Give me a few days to discuss it with fellow Budapest photobloggers, because I cannot take much of the responsability of organizing, since I live in Lyon, France since February.  I'll get back to you here.

So, I talked with the Budapest people, and they are pretty excited about this. I told them to announce an offer to host the meetup in 2009 here, so the community can make a decision. I suggest there should be a sort of a deadline for this, as an organizer city will need some time to prepare stuff.

We can fix October 4, as a deadline. Just in case other city wants to be candidate.

Hi there! I'm one of the Budapest people :-)

I've looked at what the previous meetups were about and it souns like fun, so I'll try to do my best to get something going around here. 

I already have a few ideas but we'll hopefully have a meeting soon with the other photobloggers in Budapest to exchange ideas and think about what we could do.

Yeah, sorry if I didn't express myself clearly enough, it was kinda early, or late :-D

I meant to meet with a bunch of Budapest photobloggers in Budapest, to start planning things.

I just wanted to let you know that we are going to discuss the possibility of organizing the 2009 meetup in Budapest with some Hungarian photobloggers on Monday.

Please give us a few more days and we'll be back with some more detailed plan next week!

Hey, I'm back and we're ready to go: our enthusiastic photoblogger community would be glad to organize the 2009 meetup in Budapest (if there are no more candidates)!  Smile

We have two suggestions for the date: 4-6. Sept or 11-13. Sept 2009. Let us know which one you prefer and we'll start organizing the event.
